The world woke up to a scene that stands out as a crime in broad daylight. The Yankee empire carried out an armed invasion and kidnapped the Bolivarian president and leader of the Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, along with his wife, the first combatant Cilia Flores, in an operation that tramples on international law and revives the worst manuals of imperial interventionism. It was a deliberate act of brute force, designed to instill fear and break sovereignty. Taken from the Situation Room, the rotten and criminal US office.

From Beijing, China spoke out forcefully. It condemned the use of force, described the action as a serious violation of international law, and warned that these hegemonic practices threaten regional peace. China recalled that no state can set itself up as judge and executioner of another, least of all through military force, pointing directly to the heart of US power.

Moscow responded with the same firmness.

The Russian Federation demanded the immediate release of the Venezuelan president and called on Washington to correct its behavior. Russia spoke of sovereignty, respect between states, and the need for dialogue as a political means, not the use of force or covert military operations.
For Moscow, what happened in Caracas constitutes an act of aggression that violates the international legal order.

In the Venezuelan capital, the internal response remained under institutional control.

Diosdado Cabello reported that the civic-military-police union remains deployed to guarantee peace, order, and tranquility in the country. There were no calls for chaos or panic, but rather for the organized defense of sovereignty. In the midst of the attack, the Venezuelan state acted with cohesion, discipline, and historical responsibility. And in a national broadcast, Executive Vice President Delcy Rodríguez made a forceful and highly political statement.

«Maduro is the only President of Venezuela,» she said, demanding the immediate release of the Head of State and the First Lady. She denounced the kidnapping, rejected the attempt to impose regime change, and pointed out the real objective of the aggression: to seize the country’s energy and mineral resources.
In the same message, Rodríguez called for calm and national unity in the face of external aggression. «We will defend the dignity of a people that does not surrender. That does not give up. That will not be anyone’s colony. What is being done to Venezuela is barbaric,» she said.

The Executive Vice President also called for national cohesion to face the moment. «We call on the Venezuelan people to remain calm so that we can face this together, in perfect national unity, so that this fusion of police, military, and people becomes a single body and we emerge from this wonderful stage of defending our sovereignty and our national independence,» she said.

She also reported that President Nicolás Maduro signed a decree in response to the external aggression, which was sent to the Supreme Court of Justice for evaluation and approval, as part of the institutional actions aimed at protecting the Venezuelan people, guaranteeing the functioning of the state, and defending national sovereignty in the face of foreign military incursion.

From our journalistic perspective and based on the facts presented, international law supports our sister Venezuela, since Article 2, paragraph 4, of the Charter of the United Nations states that States shall refrain from the threat or use of force against the territorial integrity or political independence of any State.

The text of the Charter itself defines this as an express prohibition. The United Nations was created precisely to prevent criminal, predatory, and hegemonic behavior, such as that carried out today by the emperor of the White House. We have always said that Trump acts like a ruthless dictator, a systematic violator of international law, convinced that force replaces the law and that the world must obey him out of fear.

Today, free peoples are not remaining silent. The bloc of sovereign countries has begun to speak out courageously against the aggression carried out by Washington against the Republic of Venezuela, the homeland of Bolívar and Chávez, because what has happened is a cowardly and criminal action that violates basic principles of law and leaves the entire region facing a dangerous precedent that no dignified country can accept in silence.

For its part, Nicaragua also joined the voice of all free peoples and sent its expressions of solidarity to the people of Venezuela:

From this blessed and dignified Nicaragua, the people and the government raise their voices together with those of their undefeated heroes to demand unrestricted respect for the sovereignty of the people of Venezuela. As brother peoples of Our America and the Caribbean, Nicaragua joins the outcry of the international community for international law to prevail and for the self-determination of nations, which is now seriously violated, to be respected. Peace has been wounded, and the human family demands that the dignity of peoples be placed once again at the center of relations between States.

In this spirit of solidarity and firmness, Nicaragua joins the call of the Vice President of Venezuela, comrade Delcy Rodríguez, to defend truth, justice, and life, and to demand the immediate release of President Nicolás Maduro and comrade Cilia Flores. Nicaragua reaffirms its historic commitment to peace, sovereignty, and the dignity of free peoples, convinced that unity and truth will prevail.
