6 January marks Three Kings’ Day because, for Christians around the world, it commemorates the biblical passage in which the Magi from the East visit Jesus after his birth, guided by the star, and offer him gold, frankincense and myrrh. But in this case, even though it is not yet 6 January, we are taking the opportunity to denounce the three evil kings, Donald Trump, Benjamin Netanyahu and Volodymyr Zelensky, who are responsible for wars, deaths, economic crisis, human rights violations, poverty and sadness for humanity.
In the case of Donald Trump, the end of 2025 exposed his tariff war, documented as a tariff policy used as an instrument of global pressure, with threats and announcements of levies ranging from 50%, 100%, 200%, and even projections of 250%, directed against the European Union, China, Canada, Mexico, and other trading partners in Latin America, including proposals for tariffs of 200% on European wines, champagnes, and spirits, 100% on films produced outside the United States, 100% on chips and semiconductors, and very high tariffs on medicines, in addition to the announcement of an External Revenue Service and the promise of a $2,000 tariff dividend, with a significant portion of these measures not materialising by the end of the year, but generating global economic uncertainty and direct internal effects.
Between January and October 2025, at least 200,000 immigrants were deported from the Yankee empire as part of a policy of human rights violations and expulsion, based on raids, arrests and detentions carried out in workplaces, car parks, neighbourhoods and even outside immigration courts.
The deportations mainly affected Mexico, which accounted for more than 53% of the cases with more than 100,000 people expelled, followed by Guatemala with around 15% and Honduras with around 13%, representing an approximate increase of 470% compared to the same period under the previous government. Human rights organisations documented abuses in detention centres, deaths in custody and practices contrary to international standards, while the policy led to mass family separations, directly affecting entire communities and causing visible economic consequences, including millions in losses in the agricultural sector due to the absence of immigrant labour, without reducing the phenomenon of migration.
The longest federal government shutdown in history was another direct consequence of Donald Trump’s clumsy policies, an institutional crisis that began on 1 October 2025 and lasted for 43 days, until its end on 12 November 2025, when Congress approved an agreement that Trump himself ended up signing under political pressure. This prolonged stalemate paralysed federal agencies, left hundreds of thousands of workers temporarily without pay and caused significant economic disruption on several fronts.
The shutdown is estimated to have caused economic losses ranging from £7 billion to £14 billion that will not be fully recovered this year, with each week of the shutdown costing up to £15 billion in economic activity, reduced the expected growth of the Gross Domestic Product, and resulted in a cumulative loss of up to $90 billion for the US economy at the end of that period, affecting both the public and private sectors and deepening internal instability by transferring the cost of the political confrontation to the people and the functioning of the state itself.
In foreign policy, Donald Trump maintained his aggression against the Bolivarian people of Venezuela, evidenced by the theft of oil tankers and the interception of oil-laden ships, violation of sovereignty with the closure of that country’s airspace, various actions carried out under military pressure and with the permanent presence of US naval and air forces in the Caribbean, led by the aircraft carrier Gerald R. Ford, the largest in the world, with a displacement of 100,000 tonnes, a length of more than 335 metres and around 5,000 troops on board, accompanied by three missile-launching destroyers, a nuclear attack submarine, more than 75 aircraft, including fighters and surveillance units, and a cumulative force of approximately 15,000 US military personnel deployed in the region, including ground troops in Puerto Rico and air and naval units operating continuously.
These military actions were carried out behind the backs of the UN and international law, including extrajudicial crimes such as blowing up boats carrying fishermen whom he accused, without proof, of being drug traffickers. This criminal conduct had political consequences. On 10 December 2025, in Oslo, Norway, during the ceremony for the discredited Nobel Peace Prize, Trump was not awarded the prize he so desired, exposing him to the international community as a warmongering leader.
Another evil king was Benjamin Netanyahu, Prime Minister of Israel, responsible for the genocide against the Gaza Strip that began after October 2023 and continued throughout 2024 and 2025.
By September 2025, the documented toll exceeded 65,000 Palestinians killed, more than 165,700 wounded, millions displaced and 432 deaths from malnutrition, including 146 children, as a direct result of the siege, bombings and blockade. The destruction affected hospitals, schools, homes, water and electricity systems, causing the collapse of the health system, mass starvation and the devastation of community life in Gaza.
On the legal front, the International Court of Justice opened proceedings for genocide and declared the prolonged occupation of Palestinian territory illegal, while the International Criminal Court requested arrest warrants for Netanyahu, formally making him a fugitive from international justice.
However, these decisions had no concrete consequences due to the political and diplomatic protection of the United States, which blocked any effective sanctions at the UN and stripped the approved resolutions of their content.
In Israel, the prolongation of the war sparked massive protests, internal political crisis and direct accusations against Netanyahu for using the conflict as a mechanism for political survival. Announcements of ceasefires were followed by new military actions, confirming a pattern of behaviour that cemented Netanyahu’s status as one of the evil kings of our time, associated with genocide, death, destruction and impunity.
The third evil king, whom you will know by his deeds, as the Bible says, is Volodymyr Zelensky, who enriched himself, his wife and his family circle with the blood of the Ukrainian people while the war he provoked bled the country dry and further aggravated its situation, turning the conflict into personal profit fuelled by billions of dollars and euros sent from the United States and Europe without control or oversight, while his presidential term expired in May 2024 and he decided to remain in power under martial law, becoming a dictator.
On the other hand, he failed in his attempt to assassinate a head of state when, between 28 and 29 December 2025, he launched 91 drones against the residence from which the leader and President of the Russian Federation, Comrade Vladimir Putin, dispatches, an attack that was completely neutralised by the Russian defence without causing damage or casualties, but revealing that, in addition to being corrupt and a dictator, he is a criminal.
While the world awaits the true Three Wise Men, Melchior, Gaspar and Balthazar, on 6 January, these three evil kings are portrayed by their own actions. Their time will not be eternal. They will end up leaving through the back door of history, condemned for wars, death and human rights violations.
